Privacy & data
Privacy Policy
Effective August 6, 2026 - Operated by RC Inc.
What this policy covers
This policy applies to the BoltShare Android and iOS apps and the BoltShare service at boltshare.rcinc.app. BoltShare lets you upload supported files, create private sharing links or transfer codes, and track downloads.
Data we collect
- Account data: if you choose to create an account, your email address and authentication records.
- Guest session data: a random browser-scoped identifier used to authorize an upload without collecting your name or email address.
- Files and transfer data: uploaded file content, file name, type, size, share settings, transfer code, expiry, download limit, and optional recipient email.
- Team data: organization name, membership, role, and invited member email addresses.
- Download and security data: download time, IP address, user-agent information, and download count.
- Advertising data in the mobile apps: app-bound device information, approximate location derived from IP address, ad interactions, consent choices, crash information, performance information, and diagnostics may be processed by Google Mobile Ads to serve, measure, and protect non-personalized ads. BoltShare does not request Apple's advertising identifier.
- Support data: information you include when you contact support.
How we use data
We use this data to authenticate users who choose an account; authorize guest uploads; upload, store, deliver, and delete files; enforce passwords, expiry dates, and download limits; show account-based transfer history and analytics; operate team features; serve and measure advertising in the Android and iOS apps; prevent abuse; troubleshoot problems; and respond to support requests. We do not sell personal data, and uploaded file contents are not used to personalize advertising.
Service providers
BoltShare uses service providers to operate the product, including Supabase for authentication and database services, Cloudflare R2 and Bunny.net for file storage and delivery, Vercel for application hosting, Mailjet for requested email delivery, and Google AdMob and its User Messaging Platform for mobile advertising and privacy choices. These providers process data under their own privacy and security terms. Learn how Google uses information from apps that use its services at Google's partner-sites policy.
Advertising privacy choices
Where required, the mobile apps request advertising consent through Google's User Messaging Platform and provide an Ad privacy choices entry in Settings. On iOS, BoltShare does not request App Tracking Transparency permission, does not access Apple's advertising identifier, disables Google's publisher first-party identifier, and requests only non-personalized ads. BoltShare does not use advertising data to track people across apps or websites owned by other companies.
Retention and deletion
Shared files, transfer records, and associated download logs are automatically deleted 48 hours after upload. You can delete an active transfer sooner from your account.
You can permanently delete your account in BoltShare Settings. Successful deletion removes your authentication account, files you own, their active share links, related download logs, and your team memberships. Infrastructure logs or backups may remain temporarily where required for security, legal compliance, or a service provider's normal backup cycle. See the Account Deletion page for instructions.
Security and your choices
We use access controls and encrypted HTTPS connections to protect data in transit. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. You control each share's password, expiry, and download limit and can delete active transfers from your account.
Children and changes
BoltShare is not directed to children under 13. We may update this policy as the service changes. The effective date above identifies the latest version.
